Venice and Bonita Springs, Fla., are ranked sixth and seventh, respectively , in Relocate-American's annual ranking of America's Top 100 Places to Live. Residents nominate their cities. Spencer, Iowa, topped the list, though 20 Florida locales made the list, including Celebration, Fort Walton Beach, Hunters Creek, Lakeland, Melbourne, Naples, Port St. Lucie, Sanford, Sebastian and Winter Haven.

What about Florida's second-home market?

It's booming thanks to low interest rates, favorable capital gains laws and uncertainty in the stock market.

Out-of-state buyers, low mortgage rates and high demand combined forces to create another strong month for sales of existing homes. Florida home sales rose 6% in March over the same period a year ago, with 24.045 homes changing hands. The median price jumped 28% to $212,300. - higher than the national median existing home price of $190,600.
